A car started following me when I was on my morning run. I've seen tooo many CSI's so I was a little freaked out. My first instinct was to run but I just stood there like a deer caught in the headlights. Paranoid just a little right? This little girl got out and asked "Hablo espanol?" With my little I mean little amount of Spanish I remembered I tried to communicate. It was no good, all I could remember to say was aqui (here) and donde esta el bonjo? (where is the bathroom?). I knew I should have paid attention in Senior McCombs Spanish Class in high school. This little family was very very lost, I tried to explain where I thought it was, wellllll I'm not from Provo so half the time I don't even know where I'm at. I hopped in the car (don't worry mom, they seemed like nice people) and tried to play tour guide around Provo She and her mom couldn't speak a word of English and I couldn't speak a word of Spanish. We were a funny bunch acting out words and pointing at random places. My guide abilities didn't go so well, I had them stop and asked someone else who knew the city better than me. Just plain embarrassin'. I drew them a map of where they needed to go. I hope they found it!
I learned two things from this experience,
1. PAY attention in Spanish class. Learning another language can be really helpful and come in handy one day.
2. Not everyone that drives up next to you in a questionable car is scary. There are genuinely nice people out in the world!
One of my best friends left on her mission to Georgia! Love you Tiffanee!!
28 days till I report. :)
Happy Wednesday!
